Inspired by song writer Marc Cerrone's 1977 smash hit song by the same name, Supernature is a story about genetic engineering gone awry.
After a series of strange incidents in the Arizona desert, along with unexplained disappearances on a California beach, an unlikely team of investigators and scientists join together to unravel a mystery of global proportions. Something is causing animals around the world to mutate, evolve, and breed at an accelerated rate, endangering the lives of thousands. All of the evidence points to a substance created by a suspected eco-terrorist working for the world's largest biotechnology company, and it soon becomes a race against time to find a solution to halt the spread of the mass mutations. If they fail, it could mean the end of mankind...

For science to play God and change the natural order of things can prove most disasterous. Supernature is a story that illustrates this in an intriguing way. Much like the prologue, the plot sucks you in and doesn't let go.A very secretive corporation called Gen X Tech used a potent chemical to alter and rapidly increase the evolution of animals and insects. Now they are growing exponentially, becoming larger, more intelligent and more dangerous. Hundreds of people are getting murdered, and thousands more injured as a result. Now, a small INVASION task force of police officers and FBI agents must put an end to the deadly outbreak before the human race becomes an endangered species on Earth, while avoiding worldwide hysteria.
Horror and suspense are consistant throughout to keep you reading, and the action really picks up early in the story. You truly get the feel for the danger and the urgency for the task force in such a dire situation. The characters are quite compelling, and the story is written in such great detail that you can easily imagining what is happening. To put it simply, if you enjoy a suspenseful sci-fi thriller, then Supernature is an excellent choice.

Supernature edition by Henry Lyons Cameron Cook Roslyn Dames Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a great science fiction read. I was asked to review this book by the author and was greatly surprised at how well it was written. Animals from around the world are growing, and mutating very rapidly. It causes alarm all over, and everyone is scared. Who could be causing this problem, and what can be done to correct it. What can be done for the animals that are already effected. Better yet, what is going to happen if they can not fix it. A great read to find out what happens.
I read this book in its early stages and since then this new updated publication has grown into something amazing. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great read that challenged the issues of man vs nature. Who will overcome and will Gen X's plan become successful? Expect plenty of twists and turns that even caught me off guard - I really never expected the book to turn out the way it did and that's what interested me the most, this won't be your normal ending or your normal timeline for that matter.
Seeing this book from its early stages a couple years ago to what it is now all I can say is that it's grown and is worth every dollar, kept me interested right up to the end.

Didn't make it through this one. The writing fell flat for me. Maybe its trite but the old advice for writers to "Show, not tell" never seemed more appropriate. Lyons tells us how the characters feel over and over, but he doesn't show us their personalities through actions or thoughts. We never have a chance to develop an emotional connection with characters before we already know everything about them. I never got to the greater themes of the story that other reviewers are talking about because i got hung up on the awkward style of the writing.
I think that there has been an everlasting debate in our society of God vs. Science and where one should end and the other begin; is one encroaching on the other? Well Supernature is a book that takes this debate to the next level. Gen X Tech is a corporation that has used a chemical to alter and rapidly increase the evolutionary process of animals and insects, and as a result these animals and insects are becoming more intelligent, bigger and stronger. As a result humans are being killed and may be forced to the brink of extinction.
This is a great fast paced Sci-Fi thriller with great action and even better writing, once you begin to read you will not be able to stop until you have finished the book.

Supernature by H.V. Lyons is also a song composed by M. Cerrone. The story itself leaves for much mystery, clouded with dead bodies popping up all over. Beginning with the prologue and then the first chapter Mystery in the Desert, the reader is pulled into a world of a mysterious virus or possibly a murder? The question pushes the reader to continue forward. As the story progresses you find yourself in one mystery after another, waiting for the solution. When the military are dragged into solving why people are turning up dead everywhere, the story goes full speed ahead. If you like books about the world coming to an end or mysterious deaths, this book could be for you! I stayed up way to late one night finishing a chapter, because sometimes as a reader, you just have to know why. The story starts off a little slow, but it really picks up the ace! I couldn't put it down in some parts! The ending was very satisfying as well.
